Q Practice Seven -- Symbolic Food • Points 15 • Submitting a text entry box or a file upload • File Types doc and docx In celebrating Passover, Jews eat the unleavened bread called matzoh to remind themselves that their ancestors fled in haste from Egypt to escape slavery -- they could not wait for the bread to rise. Our theme for this practice is Freedom. Choose a food or beverage you consume every day and eat or drink it mindfully, with the intention of practicing freedom This can take two forms. There is "freedom from" something -- procrastination, addiction, anxiety, lethargy. And, there is also the "freedom to" embrace a new attitude or way of being in the world -- small or large. Experiment with the idea of freedom this week. In the Seder ritual, symbolic foods remind people of the bitterness of oppression, as well as the sweetness of freedom. Even as we experience freedom, we must be careful to keep that sense of freedom alive. This seventh practice in your Practice Log is due 4/21. Our goal is to practice every day. From your daily entries, choose five entries to print and submit as your Practice Log entry for this week.
